Metagaming
What is meta-gaming?
- Metagaming is the use of any out-of-character (ooc) knowledge while in-character (ic). Some examples include: You watch a stream and see Avery talking to Cayla about bank robbery. Your character then goes to law enforcement and reports them, without having ever been around them.

What is classified as "IC knowledge" and "OOC knowledge"?
Obviously, anything learned when not on the server or actively playing your character is OOC knowledge. This includes being in a voice chat. You should never use information from being in a voice chat IC while playing on this server. Anything learned out of game is OOC knowledge.
IC knowledge is information that your character has learned. This is stuff heard through ARK in-game chat (keep in mind the sealed building rules), or stuff that is seen by your character.

Sealed Building Rules
A 'sealed room' is a room that has no openings that people can hear through. If you hear something while outside a sealed room, you cannot use that IC. The same applies if you're in a sealed room, you cannot hear what's outside. But what is a sealed room?
- Any fully closed room. Only settler ceilings may be heard through (on account of the very obvious holes in them)
- A room is not sealed if a door is open or there is a window without glass. Use common sense.
Power-gaming
What is power-gaming?
Power-gaming is the abuse of any in-game mechanic in ways they're not intended to be used. This includes glitches, exploits, and bugs. Power-gaming is also forcing a situation on another player (example: emoting "the wound becomes infected because the surgical tools weren't clean" would be power-gaming unless the doctor specifically emoted that the tools weren't clean).
