PvP and Banditry Rules
- Absolutely NO KoS (Kill on sight). You must always RP with a person first. Using the example of an arrest, if an official says "Put your hands up and open your pockets, you're under arrest. If you attempt to resist you will be shot." and the person they're arresting cooperates, the official should not attempt to harm them. Should the person being arrested refuse or flee, the officer may shoot at them based on their prior warning. The person fleeing may shoot back after they are shot at, not before unless they've RP'd initiation adequately.
- Do not harass the same group repeatedly unless you have OOC permission or sufficient IC reasons. If every day a home has some form of random banditry from the same group, and they've got no idea why then it's time to change targets.
- Only take items you want; DO NOT despawn items you don't. (Don't Popcorn them to make them disappear)
- You may steal from:
- Any unlocked boxes
- Any unlocked boxes you can reach through a window/door/etc
- You may enter through:
- Any unlocked doors
- Any open window (if you get stuck inside, we will not help. You'll have to find a way out yourself--or deal with the rp consequence of being found in someone's house!)
- You may NOT (these are examples, if you have a question about doing something please open a ticket!)
- Break doors of an empty home (you may only break a door if the resident is inside the building, awake and moving)
- Despawn items (Popcorning is a commonly known phrase)
- Break walls/foundations/ceilings/any building piece (Only exception is for bank robberies View Bank Robbery Rules)
- Do not combat log (log out during combat of a PvP situation). If you crash, immediately open a ticket to inform staff about the incident, but be aware of the IC consequences of passing out during PvP.
- You must wait at least one (1) hour after the end of any conflict before logging out. Should some IRL situation demand that you log out early, open a ticket and inform staff about the situation.
- When in a PvP situation DO NOT spam eat food, med brews, etc. Instead, remove yourself from active combat and RP eating (easiest way to do this is to emote). When doing this you still cannot spam eat to heal, you must keep immersion at all times (you wouldn't just shove food down your throat when injured).
- Stolen items may only be removed from your possession 48 hours after they were stolen. If not within your inventory, it must be in an unlocked container within your home or place of residence.
- Belt rules: You may only have three (3) maximum firearms on your hot-bar at any time. All guns (Pistols, Shotguns, Rifles), the harpoon gun, and the explosive barrel are included in this. There are no limits on the combination of guns, only that you can only have a maximum of 3 on your hot-bar.
Evidence and Scenes
- ANY act of banditry, robbery, law work, or anything that results in changes to another person's property (ie: Stealing a horse, item, vandalism, etc) must have a proper evidence note left behind. The best way to do this is to make a journal and leave a bad box somewhere close by. Do not put it around a corner, but where you did something (as close as possible with a bad box). No attempting to hide the evidence (Example: If you paint a door red, the evidence should be right in front the door, not around on the side).
Evidence must include 3 things: A job identifier(something that points to your class; which would be Mason, Smith, Healer, Tracker, or Chef), a personal identifier (should point to your character. Ex: red hair), and a location identifier (should describe where your character lives)
An example of a sufficient evidence note would be:
Crop Robbery < Crime/NeedForNote >
9/12/21, 6pm EST < Date & Time (include time zone) >
You spot a maroon strand of long hair mixed in with what appears to be narcotic within a deep boot print heading North. With a closer inspection, you can see a dust that appears to be made of river clay and sand.
From this note, it's likely that this was done by a maroon haired doctor who lives by a dried out river north of the scene of the crime. - Scenes should not be copied word-for-word. IC they are what the area around them looks like, not some random note left behind. You are encouraged to "write what you see". Using the evidence note above, an example (keep in mind, this can be done in any format you choose beside straight copying the note) would be :
During my inspection of the crime scene, I noticed several things. The first was a very maroon strand of hair, one that is unmistakably human. There were also deep footprints leading North that had a narcotic powder and what looks like river clay and sand within them, suggesting a doctor who lives near a dried-out river.
Initiation
- You must always initiate before engaging in PvP. Simply stating "I'm going to shoot you" does not count, you must get an adequate reaction from the person. If you say "This is a robbery, put your hands up or we'll shoot" and the person flees, that counts as proper initiation and you can shoot at them.
- Examples of good initiation:
- "This is a robbery, put your hands up and open your pockets"; The victim cooperates the entire time, doing everything asked of them. There's no reason to harm the person in this situation.
- "You're under arrest. Please put your hands up and open your pockets. If you attempt to flee or resist, you will be shot"; The victim replies with "Me? No. I'm not going to be arrested by you, I'd suggest that you put your hands up before I shoot you." After this point, either party would be able to shoot at the other because they've both initiated.
- "This is a robbery, put your hands up and open your pockets"; The victim cooperates the entire time, doing everything asked of them. There's no reason to harm the person in this situation.
Posse Rules
- Maximum of five (5) people per posse (People. Not Mounts. Five people total.)
- At any time where conflict is possible, the group you are traveling with may not exceed 5 people. (Examples: Any form of banditry or law work, going to confront 'Ross' over not paying you back for the hot chocolate you sold him, etc)
Animals
- Do not use Torpor causing attacks in any PvP Situation. This includes -- Shoulder snakes, Horse Kicks, Ovis headbutts, Pachy headbutts, and any others not listed that adds torpor when someone is hit. (If you're not sure, ask and we'll let you know!)
- A brand should never be removed, it's something that's been burned into the animal. A tracker or tamer may add an additional brand 48 hours after the animal was stolen. (Example if the brand was a couple of letters, they can include art over it to make it into a different brand, and mask the original brand, but it can't be removed in any way--just changed/added to--The original brand must still have some small resemblance, as it was a burn into the animal, you can realistically only edit it so much)
- If you are on a creature that is banned from PvP, you may not initiate PvP. If someone comes up to you and initiates, you may defend yourself with the creature you are on. (You must actively be on the creature for this to apply. You may not run over to a PvP-banned creature to defend yourself if you are dismounted)
Bank Robbery & Jail Breaks
- To do a bank robbery or jail break there must be at least two people who have no involvement with the crime in the town. These people must be actively moving around and not AFK (they must also not be passing through the settlement/kingdom, they must not appear to be leaving settlement/kingdom. Ex: near a mount, on a mount, talking about leaving).
- Like any conflict situation you must obey posse rules, with a slight modification. A posse who is robbing a bank or undertaking a jail break must match the number of people in town, up to normal posse limits. (Examples: There are 3 people in town, 3 people may participate in the crime. | There are 8 people in town, 5 may participate in the crime)
- The same group may only rob a bank every seven (7) days, and they cannot hire another group or person to rob a bank for them during this time.
- Before a bank robbery or jail break, each participant must prepare one (1) piece of sufficient evidence to leave at the scene of the crime. This evidence scene must be placed somewhere within the bank or jail, or within one (1) foundation of the point of entry. Get your evidence note confirmed that it is sufficient before the robbery, open a ticket and have Staff look over the evidence.
- After finishing a bank robbery or jail break, regardless of the outcome, the posse who committed the crime must open a ticket and inform staff. This could be done within one (1) hour after completion of the crime. (We are aware that you may be chased and this may last longer. Make sure you have informed staff before you log off)
- Barrels may only be used against 'secure buildings'. Things such as vaults, jails, castles, etc. Please open a ticket if you're unsure.
